Quotes...

Here are a few quotes to ponder:

If you want children to keep their feet on the ground, put some responsibility on their shoulders.

- Abigail Van Buren

Your children will become what you are; so be what you want them to be.

- David Bly

Would you rather be right, or would you rather be happy?
        - Anon.

What's your niche?

Do you have something you can share with our class?  Perhaps a story,
a talent, a craft, an expertise in something?

We are looking forward to having all of our students' family member(s)
join our class a couple of times throughout the year to spend time with
us and get to know us better.  We appreciate any time you can spare.
Please think about this and let us know during interviews if there is a
specific time and/or date you wish to visit.  Grandma's and Grandpa's
are always welcome!

Cheers!

Parent-Student-Teacher Interviews

Hello Folks!

Interviews will be here in no time; if you have not made your appointment,
please do not hesitate to call the school or request a particular time in
your student's agenda!

We are looking very forward to meeting with you to discuss that wonderful
student of yours!

Cheers,
Mrs. Forsythe and Mrs. Huxley

"Marvels Then and Now."

Dear Parent or Guardian!

Our class is beginning a Language Arts unit called "Marvels Then and Now."  We will be reading a variety of selections about wonders from ancient and modern times.

We will also be talking about discoveries such as Egyptian mummies and a Stone Age man found preserved in ice, and investigating the work of scientists who study the finds.

Here are some things you can do to help support your child's learning in this unit:

Watch TV shows about ancient and natural wonders, and talk about them with your child.

Plan a family trip to a park or other site that preserves the wonder of nature.

Look through newspapers and magazines for accounts of recently discovered marvels.

Ask your child about classroom experiences related to this unit.

WooHoo! It's Wednesday...(in one more day :)

Good Day Darlings!
Just a reminder...
You need to bring a jar and picture to use as a template for
our decorative, oil-painted jar.  A picture that is not too
detailed will be perfect (and of course, as long as it is not
too big to fit the jar :)  lol...
Also, we will be completing more Science Experiments
on Friday, so be there or be square!
Have an awesome week!
Cheers!
